Worn: Deep Turquoise + Red

August is passing with hardly a heat stroke in sight, fortunately. I'm pretty uncomfortable when it's hot enough to make a tank top and shorts the only reasonable option. I like bare legs and sandals in the sun as much as the next gal, but I also enjoy being able to wear long sleeves at the same time. And Summer on not, I couldn't wait to wear this dress again, with it's gemstone colors and contrasts. And speaking of stones, the matchy-matchy side of me loved being able to pair it with turquoise-embellished sandals (which I stumbled across at a steep discount) :]

Happy Friday afternoon everyone! Eric and I are off to meet up with my bestie for some happy hour happenings. Strongbow cider and dinner at the Crepe Place and my favorite people? It's couldn't get better than this. I hope you have loving, snuggly times planned for the weekend with those you love!

I won this vintage purse in a giveaway a few years ago when I first started blogging.
It has lion feet. It is amazing. Memories.

Worn: Patchwork Prints

I applied to Modcloth today! Then I got all dressed up to hit up happy hour down on the wharf with my best friend, and my car wouldn't start up. Ye ole Camry is definitely on it's last legs so it wasn't too surprising, but we were still a bit bummed we couldn't go play pretend tourist, eat clam chowder in a bread bowl and feed the seagulls our leftovers. When we reschedule our trip, I'll be sure to take along my camera. The sun came out, so I took some photos in the backyard before kicking off my favorite new booties again and lounging around on the couch before starting dinner.  Not really the exciting afternoon I had planned, but a beautiful one nonetheless. This dress makes me feel like a proper lady, while the boots make me sure I'm still tough ;)

Worn: Berries + Florals

Uh ohs, it's the same sandals as last time. With this summer weather though, can you really blame me? Enclosed feet are unhappy feet in the heat! These sandals are so much more comfortable than cheap rubber flip flops, and when I get tired of these colors, I can paint new ones with nail polish. Luckily though, the berries and beige theme is working out pretty well. As my main summer daytime shoe, I probably should start trying to coordinate my toenail polish with them...
